Population Welfare Office Karachi
An
independent city set up at Provincial Capital Karachi under a
City Population Welfare Officer by merging existing Divisional
Office has been established in the year 2003-04. The City Population
Welfare Officer will oversee and implement the family planning
activities in the city district and will be responsible to city
DCO for his performance. The main function of the City Population
Welfare Karachi are given as under:-
To plan, organize and implement family planning
and reproductive health activities through the Family Welfare
Centers (FWCs), , Mobile Service Units (MSUs), Reproductive Health
Service Centers (RHSCs-A & B type) and Male Community Based
Workers, Hakeems, Homeopaths and Registered Medical Practitioners
(RMPs).
To coordinate with EDO (H) and PLDs for delivery of family planning
services through their outlets.
To organize the assigned communication activities including exhibition
of documentaries, inter personal communication through program
and non program channel, participation in local fairs and distribution
of publicity material to the target audience.
To supervise the work of service delivery outlets.
To identify training needs and impart local level training to
the program and non-program personal.
To provide logistic support and contraceptive supply to the program
and non-program service outlets.
To see that all the equipment, instruments and furniture of the
program service delivery outlets are in working condition and
their timely report etc. in all the 18 Towns.
To ensure adequate supply of medicines to RHSC-As, FWCs, MSUs,
Male Mobilizer and community based agents in the City District
Government Karachi.
To involve and coordinate with the town officials of other public
service departments, target group institutions and NGOs extending
Family Planning/ Reproductive Health Services.
To monitor, supervise and provide on the job guidance to the service
providers through field visits.
To collect, compile and collect performance reports of all the
reporting units in all the three districts of Karachi and ensure
its transmission to the provincial department and provide feedback
to service outlets & city district government.
Any other assignment given from time to time.
