The Population Welfare Program in Sindh is integral component of socio economic development program operating all over the Sindh with specific goal of
Ø Promotion of small family norms.
Ø Reducing the population growth rate.
Ø Reducing infant mortality, maternal mortality and fertility level.
Population Welfare Program was launched in the Sindh during 3rd Five Year Plan (1965-70). After the dissolution of one unit in 1971, the program was decentralized and field activities were transferred to the provinces. The program was again centralized in 1977 and once again decentralized in 200.
